The Emiratis, sometimes called the Emirati people, are the native population and citizens of the United Arab Emirates. The UAE is made up of seven emirates, each of which have a dominant or ruling family or tribe. Abu Dhabi was home to the Bani Yas tribal confederation and Dubai settled in 1883 by an offshoot of the Bani Yas. Over the past 25 years, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum has been at the forefront of Dubai’s remarkable economic development spearheading the successful expansion of aviation, more recently, formulating economic and investment policies in support of the emirate’s vision.

Born on the 1st of December 1958, HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum began his career in the aviation industry in 1985 when he was appointed president of the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation. He is presently the CEO and chairman of the Emirates Group, chairman of Dubai World, and Noor Takaful insurance company. He has a net worth of approximately $38 billion, making him one of the world’s wealthiest royals.

2. Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak

Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak was born in Abu Dhabi in 1976 and was educated in the United States. He is currently a member of the Executive Council for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and he sits on a number of boards, including First Abu Dhabi Bank, Aldar Properties and Ferrari. He is currently the Managing Director and CEO of Mubadala Investment Company (a state-owned holding company). He holds a degree in Economics and Finance from Tufts University, Boston, USA.

Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair is the CEO of Mashreq Bank and member of the board of directors of Abdulla Al Ghurair Group of Companies, one of the biggest and most successful business groups in the Middle East. He was elected speaker of the UAE National Council (UAE Parliament). Previously, he was among the board of directors of major companies such as Emaar, Dubai Investments, Visa International, MasterCard, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and many more. 4. Mohamed Alabbar

Mohamed Alabbar is one of the well-known Emiratis in the world; and he’s a businessman and a global entrepreneur.
